Athletic Meet-2019
A two day Athletic Meet, 2019 organised by Shri Ram Ashram Public School, Amritsar at Guru Nanak Stadium, Gandhi ground, Amritsar kicked off amidst great mirth and vivacity on 10th December, 2019. The stadium was replete with enthusiasm as the athletes gathered early in the morning.
Dr. Sukhchain Singh Gill, DIG-cum-Commissioner of Police, IPS, Officer Amritsar graced the occasion by his benign presence as a Chief Guest of the day. Sh. Balbir Bajaj Ji, president of the school was present along with Sh. S.N. Joshi. Sh. Pawan Khanna ji (Khanna Paper Mills) enhanced the glory of the occasion with his presence. The distinguished members of School Management were also present there. Principal Ms. Vinodita Sankhyan ji gave an official welcome to the chief guest and galaxy of luminaries present for the event.
The meet commenced with the hosting of the school flag and by releasing the balloons and setting the pigeons free by the esteemed Chief Guest. After flag hosting, students of classes V to IX presented a spectacular march past coupled with some stirring marching music by the Piper-Band. The sprawling playground wore a festive look with colourful flags and well laid tracks. The school’s National winners gave an impressive look to the meet by taking a lap of the ground with the torch and lighting the cauldron of the Athletic meet. The entire atmosphere reverberated with the echoes of the applause of the ebullient and enthusiastic athletes.
The students entered into the spirit of occasion in a grand way with the oath administrated to ensure fair play and in the true spirit of sportsmanship. This was followed by the divine recitation of the Shabad that enthralled the audience. An energising amazing display set the tone for the event. PT Drill, Gymnastics and Aerobics demonstration by the students mesmerized the audience. The most intriguing and fascinating aspect impelling the event was the cultural programme which render the spectators with its spellbinding magic.
The chief guest expressed his pleasure through his speech by witnessing the zeal and enthusiasm of the participants. He appreciated the vigour and passion of the participants and wished them all success. He also applauded the persistent and untiring efforts of the faculty members that made this event a great success. Afterwards declared the meet open. Student of classes V to IX competed in various events including sprints, relays, sack race, three legged race etc. Once the races began the air was filled with cheering and tons of encouragement for the young athletes.
