Earth Day is an annual global event, observed on April 22, that celebrates the environmental movement and raises awareness about pollution and ways to maintain a clean habitat. To commemorate our benevolent Mother Earth, the students of Shri Ram Ashram Public School enthusiastically participated in various activities. A special assembly was held for the students with a view to sensitize them about the conservation of natural resources and to motivate them to do their bit towards making their planet even more beautiful. A guest speaker, Ms. Chetna was invited to make the children of Grade I and II aware about the planet under the topic ‘There is no Planet B’. She told them about the importance of afforestation, planting the trees and the dire need to protect the earth. She also distributed Sunflower seeds among the children. An activity of ‘Plastic Bottle Planters’ was also conducted by her. The students were also given an opportunity to showcase their artistic and creative skills. The students of Grade lll to V made stick figures using twigs, dry leaves etc. A Paper Bag Activity was also conducted for grade l in which the children came up with beautiful paper bags.
