Grandparents Day Presence of Grandparents is a delightful blend of laughter, caring deeds, wonderful stories and love. Such was the magic woven in the school campus of Shri Ram Ashram Public School, Amritsar on 24th Sept'22 for the classes Nursery, LKG & UKG on the occasion of Grandparents Day. The Chief Guest, Sh S.N. Joshi (Retd Vice Principal of D.A.V.College,Asr)and his better half Ms Kiran Joshi and the Guest of Honour Ms Neeta Mehra (President Voice of Amritsar) enhanced the glory of the event with their benign presence. They were given a hearty welcome by the Principal Dr. Vinodita Sankhyan. The event commenced with the lighting of a ceremonial lamp and floral welcome of the guests. It was followed by the brief introduction of the revered Chief Guest, Guest of Honour by the Principal. She welcomed the distinguished guests, grandparents. . The talented ashramites of Class UKG created a serene and calm atmosphere by chanting mantras. A scintillating classical rendition was performed by the students of class 1. Various games and activities like playing Antakshari, Bucket the Ball and applying of Mehandi were organized to raise the entertainment factor. The grandparents put their heart and soul to be the winner and made their grandchildren feel proud and happy. The winners of various games and activities were awarded prizes. The Chief Guest Sh S.N.Joshi addressed the audience and appreciated the efforts done by the School to inculcate good values in the children by organising such wonderful programmes.He was elated to visit the School and cherished his fond memories. The Chief Guest apprised that grandparents are the pillars of the family, greatest treasure and the founders of a loving legacy. They are also the greatest storytellers and the keepers of traditions. He motivated them to spend quality time with their grandchildren and inspired them to be good human beings. He congratulated the school for stepping in Centenary Year. Dr. Sankhyan moved a vote of thanks.She reiterated school commitment for providing value based education to the students.She congratulated the grandparents for playing a significant role in the lives of their grandchildren, guiding and supporting them and for inculcating moral values.She further added that children should not be pampered at home by giving them money,mobiles and other such provisions that hinders the growth of child.It was a humble attempt by the school to keep families together and strengthen their bond.The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
