On 8th October 2022,Valmiki Jayanti was celebrated in the premises of Shri Ram Ashram Public School, Amritsar with great religious fervor. A special assembly was conducted to commemorate the birth anniversary of Maharishi Valmiki popularly called Pragat Divas. The staff and students paid a tribute to Lord Valmiki for seeking his blessings. The students of grade IV presented a write up and discussed elaborately about the life and teachings of the Great Sage or Aadi Kavi Maharishi Valmiki. The students were enlightened about the Maharishi, the first poet who wrote the Epic Ramayana consisting of 24000 shalokas and 7 cantos. After meeting Devrishi Narad Muni, he transformed himself into a learned sage and received the divine knowledge. The young ashramites also recited the Sanskrit verses of Ramayana that filled the air with the spirit of piousness. The School President, Sh. Balbir Bajaj congratulated everyone on this auspicious occasion and told about the importance of the Ramayana which has philosophical and spiritual significance even in today's society.
